Each semester, students from the MCHS Leadership class collaborate with Marshall County Public Library's Community Outreach Program. Nick Adams, the Technology and Facilities Coordinator at MCPL, trains students on the library's makerspace equipment. This semester, Mia McGregor and Kadence Cavitt, a senior and a sophomore respectively, worked together to create an original piece of art for the school district's board office. They planned and revised various sketches before using the library's resources to transfer the art into a digital format. After several test runs to attain the desired effect, they used a laser printer to engrave the drawing on wood.

The MCHS Leadership class focuses on being a servant leader through community service while utilizing effective communication and collaboration skills, along with critical and creative thinking and problem-solving skills. The collaboration with MCPL fosters these skills that supports what is learned in class with products made for various schools and the MCHS Athletic Department.
